Concrete Foreman

Location:Kanata, Ontario

Kustom Precast Koncrete is looking for an experienced Concrete Foreman who can oversee and lead the production team.
Responsibilities

Concrete Experience:

• Knowledge of precast concrete process and production

• Experienced in finishing concrete

Project Coordination

• Coordinate precast concrete tasks and deliveries with subcontractors based on project priorities and plans.

• Ensure that all aspects of the project are progressing according to the schedule and quality standards.

Problem Identification and Resolution

• Identify and resolve job-related issues promptly, conducting analysis, investigations, and recommending and implementing necessary actions.

• Address personnel problems and provide guidance and support to the team.

Planning and Scheduling

• Develop daily and weekly plans and schedules for work activities.

• Ensure that tasks are completed on time and within the allocated budget.

Layout Verification

• Verify the accuracy of precast layouts before the start of installation to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Communication

• Maintain effective communication with the project team, subcontractors, and crew members (typically 3-5 persons).

• Serve as a liaison between the job site and the office, attending all necessary site meetings.

Safety and Compliance

• Promote and enforce compliance with Company Health & Safety rules and regulations.

• Foster a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Professional Development

• Stay informed about industry developments and maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

Leadership and Supervision

• Lead by example and provide specific, timely instructions and feedback to workers.

• Educate, coach, develop, and direct the crew to ensure efficient and high-quality work.

Budget and Schedule Management

• Plan and maintain project budgets and schedules, ensuring that financial and time constraints are met.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read drawings and plans.

• Understanding of precast concrete installation techniques.

• Knowledge of construction trade, equipment, and industry best practices.

Certifications

• Maintain certifications such as WHMIS/GHS Certification, Working at Heights Certification, and Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness.

Work Environment

• Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Manage a standard 50-hour workweek with expectations for overtime and some weekend work to meet project deadlines.

• Be open to occasional travel as required by the project.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

2. Diploma in Construction Management or equivalent is an asset.

3. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Site Supervisor with specific experience in preparing job site layouts.

4. Experience in precast concrete and mixes and workflow

5. Strong knowledge of the construction trade, techniques, and equipment.

6. Organized with effective communication skills and a focus on teamwork.

7. Ability to lead, train, educate, coach, develop, and direct workers with specific, timely instructions and feedback.

8. Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness.
